The autographs in this album were collected (between 1928 and the late 50s) firstly by the Perth-based professional baritone singer Ian McLeish who was a member of the Jimmy Shand troupe. McLeish and his wife were active members of the Perth Gaelic Society and performers in their musical events. The album was continued by his daughter Deirdre (herself an accomplished singer). Many of the autographs were dedicated to her.

Their addresses are shown on the front pastedown:
Ian McLeish, 1 Hawarden Terrace, Jeanfield, Perth Scotland
Deirdre McLeish, 54 Malvina Place, Muirton, Perth
