#16 Exquisite and delicately hand painted Moghul miniature of a Mughal king and two royal concubines seated on an oriental rug with a moonlit scene of hills in the background.

The intricacy and skill of the artist is evident from the fine faces and beaded jewellery worn by the ladies and king, and the detail of the oriental carpet.

This masterpiece has been painted on the page of an antique Urdu book, as can be seen.

There are bands of script above and beneath the painting, and also hand scripted writing on the back.

A beautiful and fine original piece of vintage Rajasthani / Indian artwork.

It dates back to my travels in India in the 1990s.

Due to the vintage nature of the antique book paper the painting has been executed on, there may be a few small marks, dog ears, or rough edges indicative of paper of this age, but this does not detract from the overall quality and look of the painting.

Please look at the photographs carefully and feel free to ask any questions you like.

The painting measures approximately 9 cm x 15.25 cm, and the mount 18 cm x 27 cm.
