I was a snow and ice climber spending a lot of time in the wet cold conditions of Scotland .I found these mitts just great. They are waterproof over mitts .I wore them over a thin pair of gloves so i could slip them off when i needed the dexterity to clip into gear ,set up a belay etc and quickly put them back on tonce he job was finished and they kept my hands and fingers dry and warm
