For sale, our 1962 Reliant Regal Mk6 - Registration no 806 XVD - please note the registration 48 BVE was removed prior to our ownership.

As I'm sure you know, 3 wheelers are an incredibly rare sight on our roads, so it would be lovely for this to go to an owner who can keep it going for many more years.

This car requires a light restoration, but as you will be able to see from the video is far from a basket case. The engine runs, the brakes work and were refurbished prior to our ownership, and the front and rear seats have been beautifully re-upholstered, saving you an expensive job!

The car has a 747cc engine which runs beautifully, and in the words of a well respected Reliant owner who we purchased it from, said it was the sweetest sidevalve engine he's heard running.

As you can see from the pictures, the bodywork has some repairs required, the bottom of the front section requires some fibreglass work, as does the top of the A pillars on both sides, and there is also a small crack at the rear under the numberplate area.

The car comes with a big stack of exterior chrome trim, which is nicely labeled. There are also 2 crates of spares included in the boot - the glass for both doors is inside the boot, for safe keeping. There is also a spare wheel and tyre included.

The vehicle will need some attention to the wiring - we haven't really done anything to the vehicle during our ownership other than ensure it runs nicely and kept it dry stored - due to family circumstances and health there isn't going to be any time available to spend the summer working on this.

The interior has had the seats beautifully upholstered, and the vehicle comes with a large roll of black carpet which you can cut to size to recarpet the floor. The engine cover/centre console could do with a retrim, and you could do as much or as little as you wanted to the inside.

The chassis appears to be incredibly solid, and I've included some pictures - this certainly isn't a complete rot box, it just requires some time to be invested in to it.

I have uploaded a video to show the car running, this might take a day or 2 to be approved by Ebay.

The brakes work very well on the car, and we were informed they were refuribished prior to our ownership.

We haven't drive the vehicle on the road apart from when it arrived with us a couple of years ago, so can't comment on how smoothly the gearbox worked, but the vehicle rolls freely out of gear, and holds itself in gear - you might want to consider a fresh clutch and a good going over, but nothing is being hidden or purposely undisclosed - we simply haven't driven it further than off the trailer it arrived on and into our garage.

The paintwork is a little flat, but with it being such a small car you could easily machine polish it or give it a simple paint job.

We have the current V5 for the vehicle and the keys, so there isn't a big history file to go with the vehicle, but cars like this don't tend to come with lots of garage receipts, you'd be doing the work yourself!

We are located in Camberley, Surrey - not far from Junction 4 of the M3.

As should be obvious, this is a restoration project so please don't think you can drive it home - it will require a thorough going over to ensure it's safe to use. You are exempt from MOT testing and Tax on this vehicle, with the emphasis being that it is your responsibility to ensure it is road worthy.

Also, please ensure you bring a trailer or recovery vehicle with a solid bed - the central wheel needs somewhere to go!

So it's a very save-able Reliant Regal Mk6, for a more than reasonable price.
