Probably not ----  I did pull the string one time and it retracted quickly with no words

I am nervous to play around any more in case the string does not retract, etc.

The doll is perfect - with gorgeous coloring - perfect hair and wrist tag.

Peeking into the box, I can see the stand and a booklet or pamphlet or some paper in there
