Here is a book titled "Memories & Musings of a Hospital Surgeon".  No author given but known to be Alfred Ernest Maylard (1855–1947), a Scottish surgeon and expert in abdominal surgery who served as president of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.  Published by Maclehose, Jackson and Co.  Publishers to the University, Glasgow.  Macmillan and Co. Ltd, London. 1920.

8 by 5 inches.  190 pages.  Hardback in navy blue cloth covered boards.  Gilt title to the spine. Some fading to the spine and boards, small stains and faint ring marks to the front board, bumping and wear to the board corners.  Age toning and the pencilled name of a previous owner to the front free endpaper, stains to page 56 and 57 and a small unobtrusive paper flaw to page 45 (see photos).
