Fern Care

Climate: Tropical, Subtropical, Temperate, Oceanic, Mediterranean.

Prefers a warm, humid climate with a minimum temperature of 0 degrees, but no frost.

Cultivated in full sun or half shade.

Fertile soil, rich in organic matter, well-drained and periodically watered, but not too much, as a build-up of water will cause the roots to rot.

Fertilising every six months with well-tanned cattle manure or castor bean cake will help them grow healthier.

Slow-growing, it takes 5-6 years for the trunk to begin to appear. It can branch out in very old plants.

It doesn't need pruning, just removing the leaves when they are dry.

Very resistant, even to diseases and pests, but if the plant is attacked by mealybugs, one of the methods of control is to cut off the leaves, the plant will produce new leaves in a short time. This is the only reason they are cut.
