It mounts under your cabinet using three screws. There is a 5/8" spacer (not shown) for cabinets with a deeper lip. It swivels under the cabinet so the knives are out of the way and swivels out to put the knives at your fingertips. The slots have magnetic strips in them so the knives stay put.
