Alvin Cullum York [1887 1964] better known as Sergeant York was one of the most decorated American soldiers during World War I who was awarded the Medal of Honor. Sergeant York received his award for his actions during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France. During the offensive Sergeant York lead an attack on a German machine gun nest which resulted in the destruction of the machine gun nest, the recovery of 32 machine guns, the killing of 20 German soldiers and the capture of 132 others. Listed for auction is the autograph of Alvin Cullum York signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''Sgt. Alvin C. York'' in black fountain pen and the card measures 5.00 x 3.00 inches, with trivial toning otherwise is in fine condition. The card is affixed with postal cancellations from ''Alvin, Wisconsin'' and ''York, Kentucky''.
