The watches are available either in A grade (perfectly bright and crisp) or B grade (slightly deteriorated colons but still working). All watches are in working condition and have a steady digits display.

These watches are historical, since they are the first LCD watch ever made, featuring a very early technology called "Dynamic Scattering Mode" pioneered by the american company Optel Corporation located in Princeton, NJ, in the early 1970s and the first Optel DSM LCD watches were unveiled as prototypes at the 1972 Basel Watch Fair, while the Avia Quartz was unveiled a year later at the stand of SGT, Societè des Garde-Temps, the conglomerate that owned Avia back then. The Avias in my possession are from 1973, making them the earliest Optel-based watches ever released in Europe. Grab a piece of watchmaking history today!
