About Artist :

Pan Yuliang (June 14, 1895 – July 22, 1977), born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu and Tongcheng, Anhui, was originally named Chen Xiuqing [2], also known as Zhang Yuliang, with the courtesy name Shi Xiu. He was a Chinese modern painter, sculptor, and art educator [10]. His main paintings include "Flowers", "Chrysanthemums and the Female Body", "Bathing Girl", "Bottle Flower", "Moonlight Night Qin Sound", "Women Lying on the Sofa", "Women Holding Fans", and "Twin Sleeve Dance". [1] [9]

Pan Yuliang was admitted to the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1918; In 1921, he obtained official fees to study in France and enrolled in the Sino French University; In 1923, he enrolled in the National Academy of Arts in Paris; In 1925, he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Rome to study oil painting and sculpture; In 1928, she returned to China and served as the director of the Western Painting Department at Shanghai Fine Arts College. She also held the "First Female Western Painter Exhibition in China" in Shanghai; In 1932, the second solo art exhibition was held in Shanghai; In April 1934, "Pan Yuliang's Oil Painting Collection" was published and distributed. In December, he was elected as a member of the first council of the Chinese Art Association; In May 1935, a personal exhibition was held in Nanjing, and in July, he left National Central University; In 1937, he resided in Paris, France; In 1939, participated in the 53rd Art Exhibition held at the National Palace of Fine Arts in France, and also participated in the Independent Salon Art Exhibition; In 1949, participated in the "Exhibition of Chinese Painters Pan Yuliang, Xiao Linzhao, Chang Yu, and Zhao Wuji in France"; In 1958, she won the Belgian Silver Award. In August, the "Exhibition of Chinese Painter Madame Pan Yuliang's Art Works" was held in Paris. Her exhibited works included sculptures such as "Zhang Daqian's Head", "Miner", "Wang Yi's Bust", "Chinese Female Poet", immortal paintings such as "Along the Seine River" and watercolor paintings such as "After Bathing"; In 1959, he won the Dorje Prize in Paris and participated in the Autumn Salon Exhibition; In 1967, he was awarded the Belgian Gold Medal and the French First Class Education Medal; In 1973, participated in the "Violet 6th National Salon" exhibition [20]; On July 22, 1977, he passed away in Paris, France at the age of 82
