The closest thing you will get to a Japanese made Gibson is something with Orville on the headstock! Made by the Fujigen factory in 1995, the SG-65 was Orville's '61 SG reissue made with a mahogany body, a mahogany slim 60's neck and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. Weighing in at 2.7kg's, it's loaded with the original Japanese pickps and hardware.

A real bargain for someone who doesn't care too much about cosmetic repairs as this one came to us with a previously repaired neck joint and a slight finish crack in the headstock. We've put it under heavy stress on our workbench and the neck is solid with no give or reason for concern, it just looks a bit ugly. The frets are shiny with plenty of life and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss.
