This is a REAL DEAL Edo Period Odaiko Drum that was once used in a Shinto Shrine

###I was able to confirm (By a torch through the Oxen skin hole) the things rattlin' inside are in fact
the wood pieces broken off near the outer rim of one of the heads. For this reason I think the drum was
finally replaced by a newly commisioned drum for the Shinto Shrine. This also is why the drum came into
circulation in the world of the antique dealers.

Tiis is a piece of Japanese history made sometime in the Edo period 1603-1868
it was carved from one solid piece and the sound is AWESOME!

As you can see in the pictures and following videos that it could either be used as is, kept as a display to posterity
or a repair project sould be undertaken.
Due to size and weight characteristics it would have to go via Japan Post EMS air of which I explain the current situation
in that regard.

It measures 53 cm in diameter and 47 cm tall with a head of 37 cm.

This drum has been a total mission and the packing process is a real task. It can only go via japan post EMS air and it is costly for sure. I must get skin protectors made up.
