This 13-Piece thread repair kit provides everything needed to repair or reinforce 5/16-18 threads in soft metals, like aluminum, cast iron and magnesium. Simply drill out the damaged threads with the included drill. Tap the hole with the included tap. Then, thread inserts into place with the included drive tool. The preapplied adhesive activates upon installation and is fastener-ready in 5-minute to 7-minutes. Each kit includes 10 carbon steel inserts, plus drill, tap and drive tool. Inserts have 5/16-18 internal threads, 1/2-13 external threads and a length of 0.484 in.
