RARE This is the original gouache watercolor advertisement rendering created by artist R JOHN HOLMGREN for presenting to Chevrolet for their magazine advertising for the 1952 and 1953 model years. If you search "1952 Chevrolet" online or ebay , you will find similar print advertising images by this artist illustrator, including ones apparently selected by Chev for print advertisement. If you search his name online, you will find multiple ads and magazine covers he illustrated in the early 1900's /

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PAINTING BY FAMOUS ARTIST ILLUSTRATOR CONTRACTED BY CHEVROLET The painting has been stored and covered in the original artist's matte and brown paper protector cover. Entire advertising sheet with penciled representation of entire ad page is 10" x 13". Painted image is approx 9" x 5 1/2". Because he was contracted by advertisers (read below), his art is rarely available. There are flaws, like around original framing, typical for this type of original, unframed art. This was purchased directly from his estate. 

Purchased from estate of R. John Holmgren (1897- 1963) American Illustrator and Artist. Stored by family since his passing in 1963. In 
1941, Holmgren was elected as the president of Society of Illustrators. He did covers and illustration for most of the major magazines of the day including Life, Judge, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Colliers, American, Ladies Home Journal, McCalls, Readers Digest, Saturday Evening Post, This Week and many major newspapers. His advertising clients included Ford, Chevrolet, Maxwell House Coffee, American Airlines, Pacific Mills, Fleischmans Yeast, Castoria, Webster Cigars, International Sterling, Revere Copper & Brass, Celanese Corporation of America, American Express, and the Cunard Lines
