DETAILS:

Case:            'Cadet’ model. Luxuriously different, and highly sophisticated. The tonneau shaped case is embellished with angular claw shaped lugs and intricate engraving to the four sides of the crystal. Original and signed ‘Bulova’. The 10kt gold plated bezel and stainless steel case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. In general the case looks impressive with only modest wear commensurate with the age of the watch.

 

Crown:         Original, signed ‘Bulova’. Showing some wear.

 

Dial:             Very eye-catching & immaculate. The original dial has been professionally refinished to a high standard in a pearl tone, accentuating and complementing the rich lustre of the 10kt gold plated case. The hour positions are marked with ‘Arabic’ style numerals and are slightly raised on the dial to great effect. The ‘Bulova’ name, minute chapter and recessed sub-second dial at the six o’clock position are in black.

 

Hands:         Hour, minute & second hands are all original, gilt, ‘Modern’ style. Looking great.

 

Movement:  BULOVA high quality Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 10AX calibre with 15 jewels marked with a star symbol for 1941. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and at the time of listing is running well keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended.

 

Size:            Tonneau shaped measures approx. 37.70mm long including lugs X 25.47mm wide (excluding crown). Approx. 28.22mm excluding the lugs.

 

Band:           A new 16mm black leather band with gold tone buckle has been fitted complementing the watch perfectly.

This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Cadet’ watch from 1941 which has been restored to appeal once again. The 10kt gold plated case and refinished pearl tone dial make the watch highly desirable and unmistakable.

• This is a vintage manual wind watch with a movement from 1941 and as such it will not have the accuracy of a contemporary quartz movement therefore perfect time accuracy cannot be expected. If you want a watch to simply put on and go – then perhaps this is not the best choice you could make – however, if you want a period timepiece that you can admire and enjoy on each occasion you wear it, then this is a great item.
