The portable radio receiver "VEF-201" was produced by the Riga Electrotechnical Plant "VEF" from 1969. Received frequency ranges: LW - 150...408 kHz, MW - 525...1605 kHz, sub-bands: SWI - 3.95...5.7 MHz, SWII - 5.85...6.3 MHz, SWIII - 7.0...7.4 MHz, SWIV - 9.5...9.775 MHz, SWV - 11.7...12.1 MHz. Sensitivity to a magnetic antenna in the ranges MW - 1000, DLW - 2000 µV/m. Sensitivity in the SW subbands with a telescopic antenna is 70 µV. Selectivity at detuning ±10 kHz, no worse than 34 dB. The reproduced frequency band when working on the internal loudspeaker 1GD-4A is 200...4000 Hz. Maximum output power 250 mW. Powered by 6 elements 373 Saturn. The operating time of a set of new elements is about 200 hours. Receiver dimensions 280x192x99 mm, weight 2.7 kg. The radio receiver was produced in different designs, including an export version with HF subbands from 13 meters.
