Item up for sale is a phenomenal antique M1917 U.S. issue wooden ammo box made for a browning. Box has the angled lower corner and slots for mounting. Interior of the box has a stenciled image instructing soldiers on proper placement of ammunition. Top shows remnants of the original leather handle. Box as a whole shows soiling from use with exterior showing paint and finish wear from age and use. Wood should wear to surface and around edges and corners. All metal shows paint wear, tarnish and patina. There is a tag attached to one side that is marked "HGR 1070". Tag shows discoloration, bending and wear along the bottom edge. Box measures 7-5/8" top to bottom by 12-3/4" front to back by 4-1/2" wide. Awesome piece that comes fresh to the market. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
