1991 VW Golf 1.6 Driver (5 speed)

Unfortunately due to having too many projects on the go I need to sell my MK2 Golf, it's a brilliant car and I'll miss it but it has to go.

Since I bought it I've done quite a bit to get it in great shape mechanically and it's now just needing some welding to get it through the MOT (I've been quoted no more than £500 by a local bodyshop to get this done).

The good bits:

New suspension all round
New brakes (I'm half way through replacing them, I'll try and get the other two done before it goes - it will come with the remaining new parts if I don't get time to fit them before it sells)
A spare set of rear drums (I forgot I'd already bought them and ended up buying a second set!)
New power steering pump & belts
New water pump
New thermostats
Got the radio working properly
New rear door handle (replacing broken one)
The interior is in great shape (apart from the headlining as mentioned below)
3 keys
great alloy wheels, although they do all need a refurb

When it went for it's last MOT (so I could see what it would fail on), the guys were really impressed that it was mechanically in great shape and all it really needed was some welding and brakes.

The bad bits:

As you can see from the pictures, it has quite a bit of light bodywork damage, dents and scratches and the laquer is peeling from the roof etc. but this should all be fairly easy to fix and will probably get 90% of the way there with a good machine polish and some paintless dent removal.

As I mentioned above, to get it through the MOT it will need some welding done, both sills, a rear quarter and I think the drivers side front jack mount. I've been quoted £500 max to get this done, but I've just not got the time to get it sorted, although if it doesn't sell for what I'm after, I'll probably just get it done and through the MOT and it'll be worth quite a bit more.

One other thing is that it needs the interior headlining replaced as it's sagging (like most do at some point in their lives)

All in all, this is a great project for someone to quickly get a MK2 on the road for a great price and I'll be sad to see it go as it's great fun to drive.

Happy to get more pictures and answer any questions you've got.

NOTE: This car has no MOT and as such will need to be collected with a trailer or car carrier and not driven away (even though it starts and drives fine for loading).

Cash on collection only.
