Design: A famous type of book inscription is yesön erdeniin nom or “book of nine treasures,” which includes gold, silver, lapis-lazuli, turquoise, coral, pearl, steel, copper, and mother of pearl. In nine-treasure book-making, the aforementioned elements are ground into a powder and then mixed with liquid glue to become an ink-like solution. Manuscript is made with paper stained in blue over the whole area, varnished on the writing space, surrounded by a frame, within which are written 9 lines in Tibetan dbu can script. Each leaf is written on both sides. Book is wrapped in original silk cloth cover.
Condition: Good condition for its age. Manuscript is in worn condition with evidence of aging and storing, original flaws in the paper, etc. Damage to the outer corners of leaves, very old marginal patches over tears from frequent turning of the pages. Please, see photos
