Very clean and honest original condition! Original paintwork in really nice shape showing a nice patina of careful use over the years, the blue lines are brush painted as was the way in 1978! I prefer the originality of the factory paint, marks and all... The frame is in nice condition and the original enamel over undercoat looks good.

The engine is strong and healthy with wonderful torque that allows for delightful roll on / roll off power for fast A to B travel.

The bike has not seen all that much use in the last 25 years, the previous owner used it sparingly and stored it very well, I bought it in 2018 and I have covered (sadly) less that 600 miles on it... It has been recommissioned during my ownership with a complete rebuild of the brakes, calipers stripped and rebuilt, new Goodridge stainless hoses with black sheathing so as to maintain the original look and also a handlebar mounted master cylinder from a post 1981 R series that greatly improves braking performance and feel. The rear master cylinder has been replaced for a new one and the same Goodridge hose has been fitted. I have retained the original parts so complete originality can be restored if necessary. The silencers are Keihan stainless and the exhaust pipes are BMW original parts, they are in good condition and have the added advantage of being 40mm diameter! The forks have been stripped and rebuilt, all oils have been changed with Silkolene Comp 4 20w-50 being used in the engine. I have also replaced the fuel taps and fuel tank filters with new ones, serviced the carburettors and set them up correctly. The battery has just been replaced with a new Exide AGM type and with new Continental classic tyres it is now running nicely and is ready to use.

Supplied with panniers, history file (with lots of old MOT certificates) spare keys tool tray and tool kit and pump under the seat. Cash or transfer on collection.
