Rare original antique print from an 1890s illustrated journal. It depicts a North Pole expedition on Christmas day. The explorers are mushing a dog sled past two fierce looking polar bears with the midnight sun. the dogs look like Alaskan Malamute.
The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10 x 14 inches (25.5 x 35.5 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 8.55 x 10.25 inches, with a caption below it.
The page is in excellent condition for its age, except for a stain in the outer white margin. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
