The First Studebaker light-duty pickup rolled off the line in 1937 . The half-ton truck combined the front sheet metal from the Dictator 5A passenger car and a high-sided pickup box styled to blend with the truck's forward half. The result was a vehicle that was more stylish than other pickups of its day. Studebaker referred to it as a "Coupe-Express".

This cab seemed like a passenger car with vent windows in the doors; dual windshield wipers, dual sun visors, a rearview mirror, dome light, and adjustable seat.
Outside, the front and rear chrome bumpers were standard as was the spare tire in the right front fender well.
The 1937 Studebaker pickup might have looked and felt like a passenger car, but it was a hard-working truck.
Displacing 218 cubic inches, the six-cylinder, cast iron block L-head engine delivered 86 horses at 3600 rpm.
The side engine panels can be removed just like on the real truck.
Tailgate chains hook into the small holes on the outside of the tailgate and work like the real thing.
You can mount the spare tire on the passenger's side front fender.
Like the real truck, the Hood and Doors open and close.
With Gentle Handling and safe display, the Beautiful Cardinal Red hand-waxed surface will retain its shine.
