Xanthosoma sagittifolium malanga American Taro.

Arrowleaf elephant ear.

1 rooted plant-Grows giant stalks and leaves. Arrowleaf is anherbaceous perennial that can grow 10-12' tall and the leaves can get 3-4' across. It can withstand temps in the 20's and 30's, but with leaf damage. They like rich, deep, moist but well drained soil in part shade to full sun. I grow mine on the north and south sides of my house and the ones on the north side are in wet clay soil and grow enormous. The ones on the south side are in drier clay type soil and stay smaller and more compact. I also grow them just fine in containers as long as they get plenty of water and not allowed to dry out.

They also bloom for me every year and they are very pretty and unique. Auction is for 2 rooted plants, but I always send extra. When you received your plants, sometimes the foliage may die back, but they will readily put back out as long as they are not allowed to dry out. I recommend soaking them in water for a couple days indoors or in full shade before planting them in the ground or pot.

Some of the foliage me be cut prior to shipping to bell with transplant shock. They will grow very fast once planted.
