There is probably enough spare parts included in the job lot to rebuild most of another scooter from any of the 3 extra frames included in the sale.

As regards the engines they could either be rebuilt or stripped down and used on other engines or scooter projects.

Please note all the parts can be used on both the Triumph tigress, and the BSA sunbeam scooter.

 INCLUDED IN THE SALE ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

One complete 1959 Triumph tigress 250 cc scooter with electric starter motor.

This scooter is an original 250 cc electric start version, which was complete and in running order. (With V5 registration document)

However the engine to this scooter has been disassembled and now requires attention. There are all the parts available in the job lot to fix the engine problem. Please contact me for further information.

The following is about the engine problem:-

‘’There was a knocking noise coming from the flywheel side of the engine so to investigate further the engine was stripped down. On removal of the flywheel it was found that the fly wheel itself had cracked across the centre boss, which caused the fly wheel to become loose on its drive shaft and wood ruft key.

This caused the keyway in the flywheel to wear, as well as the wood ruft key causing wear to the keyway on the crank shaft tapered end where the flywheel fits onto. There were no other problems found with the engine apart from this.’’ ( see the last two photos)

There are all the parts needed to replace or refurbish the worn fly wheel/ and its drive shaft (crankshaft flywheel end), or the crankshaft could be refurbished by cutting a new keyway into the existing tapered end of the crankshaft, or the existing worn part of the keyway could be welded and a new keyway cut. Alternatively the fitting of a stepped woodruff key  to the crankshaft  and flywheel would be the easiest fix , as the crankshaft is still in the engine.
