'American Film' - 1982

American Film Magazine was published by The American Film Institute from 1975 to 1992.  Included here are nine issues from 1982.


Each issue is 8-1/4" X 10-3/4".  No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages - though many of the issues do have a handwritten price on the front covers in black crayon.    These are not library discard copies.                      No subscriber address label on the front cover.

Jan/Feb 1982 - Rod Steiger - Television late night shows - Production Design - 80 pages.

March 1982 - Costa-Gavras - Frank Capra - Canadian Film Industry - 88 pages - there's a handwritten black crayon mark on the 'A' of 'American' on the front cover.

April 1982 - Kurosawa - Cat People - Documentary Films - 80 pages.

May 1982 - John Milius - Carol Burnett - Cannes - 72 pages - 'Black crayon mark on the front cover 'ES'.

June 1982 - Werner Herzog's Fitzcarraldo - Steve Martin - Barry Levinson Interview - 80 pages.  Black crayon mar on the 'A' of 'American Film' on the front cover.

July/August 1982 - Disney - Robin Williams in Garp - Ordinary People - 80 pages. - Crayon mark on the front cover at the top left corner.

September 1982 - Jack Lemmon - Gays and Film - Luis Bunuel - 88 pages.

October 1982 - John Sayles - Film Financing - Film trailers - 80 pages.

November 1982 - Jackie Gleason - Marcel Ophuls - Martin Scorsese - little bit of a crease at the lower right corner - 96 pages.
