Clarence Leonard ''Kelly'' Johnson 1910 1990] was an American aeronautical and systems engineer who is recognized for his contributions to a series of aircraft designs, most notably the Lockheed U-2 and SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. Johnson produced the first production aircraft to exceed Mach 3, the first fighter capable of Mach 2, along with numerous contributions to various other noted aircraft. Johnson was the first team leader of the Lockheed Skunk Works Program and played a key role in the design of over 40 aircraft over his four-decade career and was awarded the prestigious Collier Trophy. Listed for auction is a stunning framed display which contains a photograph signed by Clarence Leonard ''Kelly'' Johnson. The photograph is an image of the iconic SR-71 Blackbird which is signed ''C.L. ''Kelly'' Johnson'' in black felt pen.
