This listing is for the old lamp that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told it's history. It's general appearance and some research tells me that it was probably made in the 1930s or 1940s. I do not know where it was made.  I think that the cord has possibly been replaced since it was originally made.

Including the base, the lamp measures close to 12 1/2 inches tall. The diameter of the base measures close to 7 1/4 inches.
Not including the plug, the cord measures about 57 inches long.  Including the cord, the lamp weighs close to 2 pounds 8.4 ounces. Because of its general appearance and it's relatively light weight, I think that the lamp is probably made from aluminum. It might be some other kind of metal. There is no on or off switch and it looks to me like it was made made that way. Perhaps there was a switch on the original cord. I have not found anything to identify the manufacturer.

I believe that the way to replace the bulb is to remove the screws on the bottom and thus enable removing the rod  that holds the bulb in place.

The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The boat is unevenly hung with wires that I replaced some inadequate threads with. I think that the cord might have been replaced at one time. I do not know how safe the wiring is so I leave it to the buyer to make that determination. Other than a tiny amount of some kind of green substance in it, the cord looks fine.   The dark curved piece for holding the boat appears is not original. The aluminum colored one is held in place by a screw and does look original. The dark one can be easily removed. The lamp might benefit from a cleaning. I think that the areas between the rocks and other areas that look dusty were made that way./ As you can see, it lights up. I do not know the bulb is or how long it will last. I do not see any cracks or breaks. Otherwise, my photos should give you a good idea of its general condition.

I guarantee this lamp to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description; please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.

I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends.
