A rare and unusual silver plated sugar scuttle by Philip Ashbury and Sons.

The bowl is a sphere with a hinged lid, the base is a cluster of leaves and the handle and knob are a vine.

The bowl is approximately 10cm diameter.

It’s strong and sturdy with no breaks or dents. The silver plate has wear particularly on one side wear there is a black circle and blackening on the inside as well.

Hard to photograph because of reflection and the round shape but I think the last two photos show these areas quite clearly.
