Franz Koktan was a Viennese manufacturer of clarinets with the Oehler system (Anthony Baines, was a master of instrument construction and a clarinet specialist.
Franz Koktan and his son Franz II (Franz junior), who continued his father's clarinet workshop from 1907 to 1945.
Franz Koktan / Vienna, rare specimen of this instrumentalist, oboe (all parts of the instrument are original and signed).
Oboe German system Wiener master F. Koktan but otherwise very nice and interesting.
I'm not sure if it's a Low Pitch (modern concert pitch, A = 440) ...
It's not playable in it's current state, so a tuning assessment will have to wait for restoration.
total oboe is the is about 57cm......
Body.
stamp .... F.KOKTAN. VIENNA (all parts of the instrument are original and signed).
This oboe cannot be played. It has not been tested for playback.
The oboe body has slight scratches to the finish
no cracks detected, does have some staining.
The oboe has a small coloration (oxidation) of the keys, as shown in the photos. slightly more worn keys but nothing serious and no effect on playing In addition, the tool is undamaged as well as - just needs overhaul / re-pad etc.
The case does show some wear, no good condition All as shown in the photos.
I try to describe as accurately as possible, but may miss some details or have different opinions about the condition of the goods.
Of course it will be packed very well for the transit.
