Optically there are no cleaning marks, scratches, fungus, or damage to lens coatings. There is a very small area of Balsam separation at the very outside edge. This is outside the image forming part of the lens and is nothing that would affect image quality
Mechanically the lens is in perfect working order. The diaphragm operates properly. Focusing and zooming are smooth.
This is a fast operating "one touch" lens with internal zooming so the lens remains the same size at any focal length. There is no zoom creep even when held straight up or down. This has a "true" f/4.5 maximum aperture at all focal lengths (not f/4.5~5.6).
Covering from medium to to medium long telephoto this lens is ideal for portrait, candid, nature photography, or in any situation where you can not get close enough to your subject. The "macro" feature has a maximum close focusing range of 1:4.8 (almost 1/4 life-size).
