For sale is a very rare JAS 39  Saab Grippen Ducted Fan Jet designed by Paul Gray. This model is mostly complete, has been assembled so far to a very high standard and needs finishing and painting. The fuselage is fiberglass and the wings, tail and canards are light weight veneered balsa finished to a very high standard. The fuselage is 1.68 m long with a wingspan of 1.1m. The engine is a very powerful OS 9VR-DF already installed with tuned pipe, heat shield and Ramtec fan unit. The engine looks unrun and can run up to 25,000 rpm and has a massive 4.73bhp at 22,000 rpm. Three servos are also installed, as is Spring air undercarriage ( 2 main and one steering front) two main rubber alloy scale wheels and various piping and air tanks. A full set of plans are also included (seven sheets) that show all parts and additional armaments to add to the scale effect. The fiberglass fuselage also shows panel lines. Included are the following:- Fiberglass fuselage with veneered main wings and balsa flaps with OS 91VR-DF with Ramtec fan (unrun), two saddle fuel tanks, tail tube, canard winglets, air retracts - steerable front and 2 x main plus piping and cylinders and some valves, main landing wheels - rubber alloy, full canopy, full set of plans with diagrams for armaments a full set of decals and a few other bits and bobs.

These planes are now very rare and can be converted for turbine use if desired. Videos on youtube show one flying. This is not a toy and is for experienced pilots.
