Ordered from Hanwag directly last fall, tried on and walked around some in the house (no more than in a store), put them back in the box, then got busy and let them sit around past the return window. Finally getting around to listing them, and I took them back out to take detailed pictures. Very high quality boots, just didn't fit my foot as well as the Asolos I ended up keeping and wearing.
They are true to size (in my experience and history), wider than average but not super wide, and not labeled as wide. If you're familiar with Hanwag, they name things differently. Per their own site/description, these boots are the "Roomy StraightFit Extra version of the Trek Light nubuck boot for hikers with a wider forefoot." I'd liken them to maybe a E-2E (I'm more comfortable in a 3-4E), but I don't guarantee that because I didn't make them - I strongly encourage you to find a retailer and try a pair on to know for sure.
$340 new from Hanwag (more on Amzn for the SF Extras), so you get a significant discount, and I get to declutter.
** Please do your homework, measure your foot, seek out a pair to try on if possible. Footwear is too risky for returns, so I won't accept returns unless the boots are noticeably damaged on arrival.
