Growing Tips

·       Mix 3.5 oz calcium nitrate in 1 quart water, available at garden centers. Soak papaya seeds in this solution for 30 mins to speed up germination and improve success rates.

·       Soak seeds in 158°F hot water for 15 seconds, then in room-temperature distilled water for 24 hours to enhance germination.

·       Select well-draining seed starting soil, avoid seedling trays, and use 1-gallon containers. This minimizes transplanting, benefiting papaya growth.

·       For successful Papaya seed germination, maintain soil at 80-85°F with a heated propagator mat, and provide ample light via sunlight or a grow light.

·       Place 2-4 seeds in each container and cover with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of potting mix.

·       Maintain soil moisture, avoiding overwatering for successful Papaya seed growth.

·       With the calcium nitrate treatment, papaya seeds can germinate in 2 to 5 weeks, enhancing both germination rate and speed.
