Vintage Hammer made from quality  steel.

Stamped No 2, BSS ENGLAND.

It has a normal striking face on one side of the head and a dull blade-shaped face on the other which is perpendicular to the handle, hence cross pein.

The original  handle is made from ash has some chips but very sturdy.

Ideal for an engineer or blacksmith; the blade face would be ideal to thin, crease& stretch metal as it enables concentrated pressure along a thin line.

It's 36cm in length and head width is 11.5cm

Weighs approx 450g.
