This strawberry centrepiece tureen is quite an impressive piece. The only flaw I can find is that the small ladle has damage on the reverse of the bowl. It appears to be a production fault rather than a crack and it seems the piece has snagged on something prior its second firing.

Apart from this, all three pieces are in good condition with no chips or cracks, although the base plate has fine crazing but this is not visible on the patterned part. Any white marks or streaks you can see are just light reflections.

The strawberry tureen and plate combined measure 16.3 cm (approx 6 ½ inches) in height, whilst the spoon is 18.5 cm (7 ¼ inches) long. The base plate is 20 cm (8 inches) in diameter.

The underside of the base plate has a blurred “Bordallo Pinheiro” inkstamp, although the strawberry itself is unmarked. They are definitely Portuguese and I assume by the same maker.
