This lovely early Georgian salt has a moulded rim and three hoof feet.

It has hallmarks showing IS&AN for silversmiths, rubbed, but visible Lion Passant for sterling, Leopard’s Head Crowned and date letter L for 1766.

It has some wear which is commensurate with its age and there is tarnishing on the inside bowl, but the salt has a beautiful perfect blue glass liner.

It measures 60mm in diameter and the silver (without liner) weighs 44.3 grams.

This is a nice early example.
