In this listing, I am offering a primitive Uncle Sam that has been handmade by me for your seasonal display! Uncle Sam would look sweet standing on the mantel or on top of an old cupboard or shelf. He can be placed anywhere you would like a bit of primitive patriotic spirit!
I created the body out of coffee/vanilla stained osnaburg and it has been stuffed firmly. Uncle Sam has a pinched nose and stitched eyes. His body has been dry brushed with military blue paint. I then lightly sanded the body. He has wool roving for his beard, moustache and his hair....all of which have been hand stitched in place.
I created his hat out of scraps from an old antique cutter quilt. It has also been stained and is hand stitched in place. I wrapped a piece of stained cheesecloth around his neck twice and tied it at the side. I wrapped a stained Americana flag around his body and it is held in place with old string.
Uncle Sam has a weighted bottom and stands nicely on his own. Overall, he measures about 13" tall.
