Up for sale, a 1992 Rickenbacker 4001V63 vintage reissue bass in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, polish cloth and factory paperwork. A discontinued model which has become increasingly scarce and sought after in recent years, the 4001V63 faithfully captures the look and feel of Rickenbacker's '60s 4001 model, featuring a Toaster Top neck pickup, Horseshoe bridge pickup, dot fretboard inlay, and elegant body contours without binding. This particular bass is also notable for its highly figured flame maple neck, as more sedate cuts of maple are the norm.

The 4001V63 offers a truly distinct sound that's deeper and thicker than other 4001 (and 4003) models, and while the 4001V63 still has Rickenbacker's present midrange growl and note attack, the sound can also be thumpier. Particularly resonant acoustically and yielding ample sustain given the neck through body construction, this 4001V63 weighs 9lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh roundwound 45-100 strings, comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The Maple gloss finish is stunningly well-kept with barely a scratch on it, highlighting the deep, tight flame figuring extending the length of the neck and body. The instrument and case do have a slight smell of smoke.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the Rickenbacker polish cloth and factory paperwork.
