All the albums, all the masks, all the streams of blood
When a screaming nine-piece metal pack erupted from the cornfields of Iowa, USA in the 1990s, no one initially knew what to make of them. But the terrifying image of mental institution inmates, backed by the hellish roar of psychopathic concert shows, quickly won them legions of fans. Their debut studio album, released in the hot summer of 1999, came to herald a new musical millennium, and each subsequent record only cemented the band's position at the metal pinnacle.
Not even dramatic blows of fate could bring Slipknot down from their musical heights. In 2010, founding bassist Paul Gray died, and three years later, phenomenal drummer Joey Jordison left the band, succumbing to a serious illness in 2021. However, Slipknot have managed to navigate through years of chaos and uncertainty, always coming out of them much stronger.
In this book you will find an insider's view of the circumstances of the band's formation, as described by the authors of Metal Hammer magazine. They have charted their rise to musical stardom and their cruel collisions with fate to their resounding takeover of the metal throne on which they currently reside. Featuring exclusive interviews with all the key members of the band, a look behind the scenes and into their private lives, as well as reports from their now classic live shows.
