This appears to be a Review Copy presented to Stephanie in November 1967 with a "For Review" from note from the publishers Weidenfeld and Nicholson.

Levine was one of the most prolific illustrators of the 20th C, creating over 4000 images for the New York Review of Books starting in 1963, 1000+ illustrations for Esquire, and work for dozens of other publications. 

Levine also illustrated many books. 

Albert Kahn was a political journalist who had published a couple books on Soviet/US relations.  

In the mid 1940's he was blacklisted because of his Communist sympathies (later renounced), and had his passport revoked in the 1950's.
