Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk

What a stunning and rare find! These lovely little bags are French and made of incredible hand woven hemp. I found these bags with a collection of 18th century silk pieces so I have no reason to doubt they are from the 1700's ~ ( most of the silk was c1740 ish ) I found many and I'm selling them individually ( please see measurements below! These bags were for carrying coins , acting like a pocket. They were often tied and if , for example , someone was sending a person to pay a debt, in order to ensure the coins arrived in full, a lead seal was placed around the neck of the bag ~ This lovely money bag is
made using hand woven hemp, raw and dark and so wonderfully primitive!! The hemp is course in texture ~ This piece is hand stitched around the sides ~ A lovely rare find ~ Each is slightly different in tone, weave and condition ~ please be sure you would be happy to receive any of the above before purchase ~*~

MEASUREMENTS: Each of these bags each measure approximately 9 inches long by 6 inches wide. I am selling these little bags individually, so if you would like to purchase multiple bags, please simply change the quantity button above to the number of bags you would like to purchase. The measurements of each sack may vary slightly.

CONDITION : This lovely cloth bag is found in original, unwashed and unused condition. There are some pale storage marks on some, however each is generally in stunning condition!
