The reverse of the coin presents the WAR ELEPHANT breaking in to a charge. Finely detailed with a variety of finishes bringing the drama to life. The War Elephant, trunk raised, charges across a rocky terrain with a stylized mountain range beyond. Upon the War Elephant sit the riders. One rider bangs the drums of war stood within a basket laden with spears. The rider to the front of the great animal guides and helps protect the War Elephant as it goes in to battle. A truly terrifying sight to behold as the beast tramples all before it.
The obverse of the coin presents a wonderful rendering of the Gibraltar Coat of Arms with the United Kingdoms of the Lion and the Unicorn. Inscriptions above the emblem GIBRALTAR, year of release 2022, to the left the weight 1 TROY OUNCE, to the right the finesse 999 FINE SILVER and below the denomination 1 POUND completes the inscriptions.
