Wonderful & old, stoneware preserves crock with a patent date from
1896!! Has a single, wire bale handle & no lid. Has some ~ amazin'
crazin' ~ that oozes with antique charm. Quintessential farmhouse
kitchen decor, then and now!
Crock measures 6 1/4" tall x 5 3/4"
wide at the base. Depth of 5 3/4". No chips or cracks. Normal
manufacturing marks. Patent date of February 11, 1896 is embossed on the
back bottom rim. No maker marks. This crock is very similar to a
Johnson Preserves crock, just without the text graphics. Bale handle
works fine. It bends slightly to the left but it can easily be reshaped
if you would like to do that. It is clean, fairly heavy & in
excellent antique condition. A terrific addition to any stoneware crock
collection.
