We are offering

This is a wonderful 19th C. Black Forest
carved wooden Child's Shoe Coin Bank
with a hidden secret compartment.

At the top of the shoe sits a child's wooden sock,
which was stuffed into the shoe opening revealing the coin slot
to drop your money into.
Originally the carved sock top was pinned in place so it couldn't come off, however
through the years the pins were removed so the top now lifts off.

The heel of the shoe is constructed so that you can remove a wooden pin
to release the heel and reveal the open shoe compartment.
Originally this was the only way to retrieve the money.
(see photos 15 & 16)
The craftsmanship leaves little to the imagination
The detailed of the sock at the open shoe, the laces are untied, the entire shoe
shows that it was worn.  The sole shows lots of wear
with some of the nails missing.  This is a wonderfully detailed child's worn out shoe.
