A very high quality, strong, and heavy duty lock. BOTH parts are thick heavy solid brass. It weighs 1 lb 2 oz unpacked, so must be sent by Priority Mail. I don't make any money on the shipping. No key available but you can possibly make one or have a locksmith make one. The locking pieces do move and the lock comes apart fine. There are some dings and light scratches but this would polish up very well. See pictures for more details of the condition and style.
The lock is 6 1/8" tall and 3 1/2" wide at the widest part of the top (edge to edge). The top receiver piece is 3" wide. The top requires a cutout in the trunk about 1 1/2" diameter. The lock is perfect for nice antique trunks or even new chests. This style lock was used on high quality trunks of the from the 1890's to early 1900's. A lock which is very hard to find.
