15" CAGE DOLL

Exquisitely Hand-Carved

All Wood / Articulated Peg-Jointed / Hardwood Torso and Base Rondels

She makes a lovely Christmas decoration!

[   FEATURES AND DETAILS...   ]

This 15"-tall cage doll is hand-carved of some type of hardwood--exceptionally executed, with a riveting expression, intricately carved hairstyle, and headwear adorned with a bow and flowers.  She is fully poseable, being very nicely double-peg jointed at the shoulders and elbows.  Her wrists and her waist also rotate in sockets.

ARTIST SIGNED: She is signed in two places with the artist's monogram: A large central "M" with smaller "T" and "L" above and below it.  The monogram appears on the underside of the torso (inside her waist joint), as well as on the underside of the cage base rondel--where it additionally has what appears to be a whimsical dog or fox head.

Her age is undetermined, but I would place her in the early to mid-20th century based on the surface and age of materials, as well as a very old repair to a natural age crack that runs from the right side of her head down to the waist.  The repair itself has spread slightly due to additional aging.  (See final photo for detail.)  The age crack has not weakened her; she is still quite stable.

This gal is quite the catch!  An extra-beautiful cage doll lady
.

[   CONDITION DETAILS...   ]

- Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.

- See the final photo for a closeup of the age crack.  It has a very old repair.  The age crack has not weakened the overall wooden torso structure.

PLEASE SUPERSIZE ALL PHOTOS, AND ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING.  I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER.

[   RETURN POLICY ON DOLL LOTS...   ]

It is with deep regret that -- after 14 years selling on eBay, and with 100% positive feedback -- I've had to change my return policy on dolls to "NO RETURNS, AND NO PARTIAL REFUNDS."

As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. These dishonest people will buy a doll, then try to improve or restore it ... not knowing what they're doing. And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective.  Or else they keep the doll and demand a "partial refund" based on the alleged defect -- which is another trending scam on eBay.

I sell these dolls for a living so, my sincere apologies to you -- the honest majority of eBay buyers -- that I can no longer afford to accept doll returns.  (Of course, shipping loss or damage is a different matter; that is fully covered by insurance.)

BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT ...

I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body.  Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls.
