Vintage WWII era Philippines Filipino custom fighting knife Visayas old file

Description: This auction is for a vintage custom fighting knife, likely from Visayas area. Carbon steel blade forged from old file. Nice beveled but unsharpened false edge. Hilt is dark hardwood, resembles a barung kakatua hilt. Bronze guard and ferrule, brazed together. Old wood scabbard with single remaining brass band. Probably WWII era. The blade and components are loose. I did some work on this - I cleaned the blade with Evapo-Rust and a sanding sponge. I glued part of the hilt under the ferrule together (repair isn’t visible). I did not work on the hilt or scabbard. Nice, unusual knife.

Note: I never use AI generated descriptions. Knives have not been cleaned or restored unless indicated above. If purchasing for use or training purposes please use your judgment as these are vintage item and may have loose blades or fittings. I purchased these knives secondhand and any statements about origin or age are based on my own research and judgment.
