I found this uranium glass boat-shaped basket in an antique mall in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, from the famous English glassworks Davidson & Co. It is a Victorian period piece. The Davidson workshop was founded in 1867 and made many well-designed art glass pieces. The workshop made a variety of masterpieces, but closed its history in 1966 when it was purchased by another company. This piece is a boat-shaped bowl in the "War of the Roses" pattern, part of the Davidson Pearline series (yellow or blue with white opalescents). The registration number, 212684, is stamped on the bottom. It was introduced in 1893 and was produced until 1895. The boat is decorated with a floral pattern on both sides. The title may refer to the War of the Roses and the aristocrats who were on both sides of the Red Rose and White Rose. It is made of yellow uranium glass called Primrose by the Davidson workshop. Yellow uranium glass called Primrose was used in the Davidson workshop, and when illuminated by a black light, it glows with a beautiful fluorescent glow. As mentioned above, this piece was made between 1893 and 1895, and is in very good condition, with no flaws or chips other than a few minor scratches. The only thing is that the height of the four feet are not aligned and it rattles when placed on the table. Most of them are transparent yellow or green, but light blue or pink are rare. Uranium glass actually has a long history and was used in mosaics in the Roman Empire. In modern times, it began to be made in Bohemia around 1830, and many were made in Europe and the United States until the 1940s.

The pre-dawn sky is also filled with ultraviolet light, so uranium glass fluoresces.
