1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air III convertible in Orbit orange. I have owned this GTO for nearly 4 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The car was imported in 1985 by a USAAF airman who was stationed at 81st squadron, Bentwater U.S airbase and have the USAAF import receipt and permission as well as quite a volume of bills etc and a copy of Classic American magazine from Oct 2004, which actually features this very car. It is a genuine code 24267 GTO. It has a 400 cubic inch (6.6 litre) V8 engine - rated at 366bhp and 450ft/lbs of torque from the factory, It will smoke the tyres with a whiff of throttle! The engine runs faultlessly - starts first time, no smoke or strange noises - only the wonderful V8 rumble! Oil pressure is around 75psi on start up and it hovers around 50 - 60psi when warm, it has never overheated even when sat in the Chelsea cruise traffic jam for ages. It has a 4bbl Holley carb and I fitted MSD ignition and Blaster coil as I had it fitted to a 1967 Pontiac Lemans I had a few years ago and found they perform faultlessly.
The gearbox is a TH400 3 speed auto which works perfectly, shifting up and down and kickdown as required. It has a Hurst Dual gate shifter- which is quite a rare item, the gear lever moves over to the right gate for manual shifting and stops you shifting into neutral accidentally (if you ever needed to accelerate even faster than the auto will - haha!) The car has been recently serviced (January and March) by GS autos, also new rear brakes and cylinders, New exhaust manifold gaskets, the steering box (variable ratio) has been rebuilt and new centre link fitted. The steering is light and precise - unlike a lot of classic American cars. Fitted with power discs in front and drums on rear. 4 new tyres last year. Power hood works as it should, although not as quickly as modern cars.
The car is not a matching numbers car (but has the correct engine which was fitted originally) and is not a concours example- although I think it is in good condition and is ready to use for the coming summer.

The bad bits, could do with new fender decal stripes as they are faded and a few paint blisters on the passenger door and a few marks here and there on body. The white hood has a few marks on (so not that bad really) and starter inhibitor switch not connected.
Tax, MOT and ulez charge exempt.

If you look on YouTube  -

you will see an Orbit orange GTO convertible go for over $1million dollars last year, you could have something similar for a fraction of that! (Admittedly, it was a 455 ram air 4 Judge in showroom condition, haha)
I have been told by the previous owner of 25 years that there are only two 1970 GTO convertibles in UK. Only 114 GTO 400 ramair 3 autos were built by Pontiac that year so it is a bit rare. I fitted a Pioneer DAB radio and cd player which is hidden by an 8 track fascia held on by magnets - looks the period part!
Better than money in the bank, and you get to play with it and pretend to be Warren Oates in 2 Lane Blacktop - haha!!
Obviously you are welcome to view the car if you are serious.
Cash or money transfer preferably - the car will not be released until money clears in my account.
No part exchange or silly offers please.
Thanks for looking and reading this saga!
